Business Analyst | Project Scoping, Stakeholder Management | PE-Backed Wealth Management Group Set to Double in Size
- Location: Bristol, hybrid (one to two days a week in office)
We’re working with a private equity-backed wealth management group who need a Business Analyst to join their team, and how you work with people matters here as much as your BA experience. You’ll take projects from a loose idea to something their tech team can deliver, in a business of around 200 people that plans to double in the next two years.
Since the investment they’ve been running much more like a start-up than an established firm. There’s no BA team to sit behind, so you’ll be the one building relationships across the business, from the people answering the phones to the CEO and the chair of the board.
The Projects
Around 20 projects are underway from a list of 100+. Here’s some of the current projects you may be working on:
- A custom adviser platform, roughly a year-long build
- Agentic workflows to automate internal processes
- AI tools for client meetings and pulling information from documents
- Dashboards for teams across the business
- Fixing handover points where work passes between people
A big part of your job is cutting that list down to a prioritised 20 or 30, ranked by value and KPI impact, so the board has what it needs to choose between them. You’ll scope each project, work out the value, dependencies and issues, get the documentation in place, hand it to a delivery team of around 12, then make sure testing gets done.
Non-Negotiables
- 1-4 years business analysis experience
- Senior stakeholders: articulate and confident up to board level
- Relationship building across the whole business
- Problem solving: curious, creative, quick on your feet
- Microsoft estate across the business
- Dynamics CRM: the backbone most workflows run on
- Microsoft Fabric data warehouse
- TypeScript and React
- Agentic AI workflows
- Power Automate and Planner
You won’t be expected to code or write SQL, but you’ll need to understand the team’s language.
Nice to Haves
- Wealth management or financial advice experience
- AI or automation projects experience
- Portfolio prioritisation and board-level reporting
Why Join
They’re looking for someone articulate and naturally curious, who can talk around a problem rather than stick rigidly to a method, and who is good at drawing information out of people, pushy with a smile when needed. The hiring manager is flexible about how you work together and wants to play to your strengths, so you’ll have a say in how the BA role runs.
There’s plenty of room to grow. The current COO joined on the graduate scheme, and so did the head of IT, and with the business set to double there will be more openings like that.
The firm keeps all its client data in-house rather than on third-party platforms, which makes the AI work more interesting than usual.
