Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Salary: £60k-£73k (dependent on experience)

Location: Cambridge

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing cutting‑edge medical devices. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the development of precision mechanical systems for next‑generation drug delivery products, taking designs from early‑stage concepts through to high‑volume manufacture

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of designs from concept through to production
• Develop precision mechanical components and assemblies
• Produce 3D CAD drawings and supporting documentation
• Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering investigations
• Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimise designs for scalable production
• Assess tolerance stack‑ups and the impact of manufacturing variation on performance

Key Skills & Experience

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Previous experience developing medical devices through the full product lifecycle is a must
• Knowledge of injection moulding and high‑volume manufacturing processes is a must
• Understanding of precision mechanisms and tolerance analysis
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
