Director, Residential Development Finance Origination
We are representing an established specialist lender based in Central London, seeking an experienced property finance originator to help drive new business across the UK residential development market.
This opportunity will appeal to someone who enjoys being at the forefront of lending: building trusted relationships with developers, identifying attractive financing opportunities and taking transactions from initial discussion through to successful completion.
You will have the commercial freedom to develop new lending relationships while working closely with experienced credit and transaction teams to deliver tailored funding solutions.
The opportunity
This is a relationship-led origination position, focused on supporting experienced property developers with their funding requirements.
- Originate residential development finance opportunities through your established network of developers, brokers and professional introducers.
- Build long‑term relationships that generate repeat transactions and new business referrals.
- Assess development proposals, understanding project viability, borrower experience, funding structures and exit strategies.
- Structure and negotiate commercially attractive lending facilities, balancing borrower requirements with sound credit judgement.
- Work alongside credit, valuation, legal and monitoring teams to progress transactions efficiently through to completion.
- Identify opportunities across residential development, land acquisition and other relevant property development funding requirements.
- Contribute to the continued growth of an established specialist lending platform.
Who we’re looking for
We are particularly interested in speaking with established development finance originators who can demonstrate:
- A successful track record of personally originating and completing property development finance transactions.
- An active network of residential developers, brokers and introducers.
- Experience originating facilities typically within the £1m–£30m range.
- Strong knowledge of residential development lending, including construction risk, borrower assessment, loan structuring and exit strategies.
- The commercial judgement to identify attractive lending opportunities and progress them through the credit and completion process.
- A relationship‑driven approach, with the ability to generate sustainable new business.
Relevant backgrounds may include specialist banks, challenger banks, property finance lenders and real estate debt platforms.
