Commercial Manager – Local Authority Infrastructure

Location: Bedfordshire

Salary: Up to £110,000 + Company Package

Contract: Permanent

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join a leading UK construction and infrastructure contractor, working on local authority infrastructure schemes, including one of the country’s flagship infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to take a leading role in commercial performance, contract management and financial control across significant infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function across infrastructure projects.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, CVRs and commercial reporting.
• Oversee procurement and commercial management of subcontract packages.
• Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events, variations and change control.
• Monitor commercial risks and opportunities.
• Manage subcontractor payments, valuations and final accounts.
• Work closely with project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
• Support effective commercial governance and project delivery.

About You

• Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Experience in local authority, highways or public-sector infrastructure would be advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and change management.
• Experience managing project budgets and subcontract packages.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
