Quantity Surveyor

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework team based in Kenwith., This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing the cost, value and contractual arrangements for Kier associated with delivery of the Environment Agency Collaborative Delivery Framework. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment where your expertise will help shape project outcomes and build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.

What will you be responsible for?

• Preparing project budgets, developing cost plans, and managing applications for payment, CVR and forecasting
• Managing the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and helping select contractors and subcontractors
• Negotiating contract terms to ensure they are favourable, equitable and protect Kier from commercial risk
• Managing large and complex subcontractor packages, including assessing submissions, valuing completed work and arranging payments
• Identifying and assessing the impact of changes and compensation events, including producing contractual notifications

You have excellent numeracy and financial management skills with a strong understanding of cost control processes

Key requirements

• You have experience with standard forms of contracts, particularly NEC4 forms
• You understand commercial risk and how to manage and notify this as part of commercial management
• You have strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client expectations effectively
• You’re a team player who’s prepared to get stuck in to support projects and colleagues, with proficiency in MS Excel and standard office applications
