Resident Engineer

Overview

As a Resident Engineer at the Jaguar Land Rover site in Halewood, you will service and repair a range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment. You operate within a three-shift pattern and contribute to meeting customer needs, including overtime support. You diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and document work using modern technologies. Responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify faults on Linde forklifts and other material handling equipment at the customer site
• Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing
• Work across a range of equipment from pallet trucks to automated trucks
• Liaise with customers and internal colleagues to ensure service quality
• Use IT tools to keep accurate records and place orders
• Support overtime and flexible shift requirements as needed

Key requirements

• Experience as a forklift technician, plant fitter/technician or related role
• Mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or hydraulics background
• Ideally NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), though not essential
• IT literate and able to use technology for record-keeping and ordering
• Full UK driving licence
• Good communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude
• Flexibility and a desire to be a Linde brand ambassador
