Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in a Central Manchester building services consultancy, you help shape design strategy and conceptual layouts for electrical installations. You will perform design calculations and produce drawings, diagrams, and specifications for major building projects. You’ll ensure compliance with BS standards, Building Regulations, energy efficiency, and low-carbon targets, while collaborating across project teams. Responsibilities

• Provide input on design strategy and conceptual design for electrical installations
• Perform design calculations for major building projects
• Design electrical installations including drawings, diagrams, schematics, specifications, and schedules
• Ensure compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations, and other relevant standards
• Incorporate energy efficiency and low carbon requirements into designs
• Collaborate within project teams to meet briefs and timelines
• Support senior staff in managing client and design team relationships
• Demonstrate broad knowledge of electrical systems across sectors
