Perfect role for a mid professional looking to grow their Financial Services career in Glasgow.
Regulatory scrutiny in Financial Services has only intensified over the past few years, and firms need people who can spot problems before the regulator does. This particular business is an established, large-scale operator in the sector with a serious presence in Glasgow. They’re hiring a Conduct & Compliance Officer to help keep standards tight as the business grows.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Monitor business activity against FCA conduct rules and internal policy, flagging issues before they become problems
- Carry out compliance monitoring reviews and write up findings clearly enough that non-specialists can act on them
- Support the wider team on regulatory change projects, translating new rules into practical guidance
- Investigate conduct incidents and complaints, and help draft remediation plans
- Deliver training sessions on conduct risk and compliance obligations across departments
- Maintain and update compliance registers, breach logs, and reporting packs for senior stakeholders
Here are the skills you’ll need:
- A few years’ experience in a compliance, conduct risk, or regulatory role within Financial Services
- Solid working knowledge of FCA rules, particularly around Consumer Duty and conduct risk frameworks
- Confidence writing reports that senior managers will actually read and act on
- Sharp attention to detail. This job has no room for “close enough”
- The ability to hold a firm line with stakeholders who’d rather you looked the other way
- A relevant qualification (ICA, CISI, or similar) is useful, though not essential if the experience is there
Key perks and benefits:
- Salary of £40,000 to £50,000, depending on experience
- Hybrid working, with regular time in the Glasgow office and flexibility around the rest
- Private medical and dental insurance
- Enhanced pension scheme and performance-based bonuses
- A comprehensive benefits package built for a genuinely large employer, not a token gesture
Why pursue a career in Financial Services?
Financial Services rewards people who take the detail seriously, and compliance sits right at the centre of that. Glasgow has grown into one of the UK’s strongest hubs for the sector, with major employers investing heavily in their operations there. A Conduct & Compliance Officer who builds a strong track record here has a clear route into senior risk and compliance leadership.
This Conduct & Compliance Officer opportunity in Glasgow is brought to you by The Opportunity Hub UK.
