Company: The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd
Apply for the Security Intelligence Analyst
Location: Birmingham
Job Description:

Join a startup Defence & Government company as a Security Intelligence Analyst in Birmingham.

Threat landscapes in the defence sector shift fast, and the organisations tracking them need people who can spot patterns before they become problems. This is a lean, fast-moving Defence & Government startup building intelligence capability from the ground up. Growth has been rapid, decisions get made quickly, and a Security Intelligence Analyst joining now will shape how the team works, not just fit into an existing process.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

Monitor open-source and classified intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats relevant to government and defence clients

Produce clear, actionable intelligence reports for stakeholders who need answers, not jargon

Analyse patterns across large datasets to flag risks before they elevate

Work directly with technical and operational teams to translate findings into practical security measures

Support briefings and assessments for clients across the defence and public sector space

Help build out intelligence processes and tools as the company scales

Here are the skills you’ll need:

Solid experience in a security intelligence, threat analysis, or related analytical role

Familiarity with intelligence frameworks and open-source intelligence (OSINT) methods

Ability to write clearly and concisely under time pressure

Comfort working in a startup environment where priorities can change overnight

Eligibility for security clearance (existing SC or DV clearance is a strong advantage)

A genuine interest in defence and government affairs, not just the technical side

Key perks and benefits:

Salary of £37,500 to £49,500, depending on experience

Equity and stock options, so you share in what you help build

Flexible working hours around a core office day in Birmingham

Learning and development budget to keep sharpening your craft

A flat structure where your ideas reach decision-makers directly, not through five layers of management

Why pursue a career in Defence & Government?

Defence and government work rarely stands still. Budgets are growing, threats are evolving, and demand for skilled analysts is only going one way. Birmingham has quietly become a serious hub for this kind of work, with strong transport links and a growing cluster of firms serving the sector. Progression tends to come quickly for people who show good judgement under pressure, and few roles reward that as directly as this one.
