Perfect role for a mid professional looking to grow their Property & Construction career in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen’s built environment is going through a quiet transformation. Energy transition projects, commercial redevelopment and infrastructure renewal are keeping contractors and developers busy across the North East, and an established player in the sector needs a Senior Project Manager who can keep large-scale work moving without drama. This is a business that has been building things in this region for a long time. It knows what good looks like, and it has the frameworks to prove it.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Running project delivery from pre-construction through to handover, keeping programme, cost and quality aligned throughout
- Managing relationships with clients, subcontractors and design teams, and being the person who sorts out problems before they become expensive ones
- Producing progress reports and forecasts that senior stakeholders can actually act on
- Chairing site meetings, tracking risk registers, and making sure health and safety standards are never treated as an afterthought
- Managing budgets and variations, with a close eye on margin protection
- Coordinating multiple workstreams at once, some of which will inevitably clash for your attention
Here are the skills you’ll need:
- Solid experience managing construction or property projects at a mid to senior level, ideally within a structured, process-driven environment
- Working knowledge of NEC or JCT contract forms
- Confidence with project management software and reporting tools
- Strong commercial awareness. You’ll need to spot cost risk before it becomes a live problem
- The kind of communication skills that keep a room of contractors, architects and clients on the same page
- A relevant degree or professional qualification (RICS, CIOB or similar) is preferred but not the only route in
Key perks and benefits:
- Salary of £41,000 to £51,000, depending on experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including private medical and dental insurance
- Enhanced pension scheme and performance-based bonuses
- Office-based role in Aberdeen, working alongside an experienced project team rather than from a spare room
- Structured career development within a large, established organisation
Why pursue a career in Property & Construction?
Property and construction rewards people who can hold detail and big-picture thinking at the same time, and demand in Aberdeen shows no sign of slowing. Energy transition alone is reshaping how the city builds, and someone stepping into a Senior Project Manager role now is arriving at a genuinely useful moment. Progression tends to be tangible here too. You can point at a finished building and say you managed that.
