This particular business is a fast-growing startup building its name in the PR & Communications space, and it needs someone who can shape how it talks to the world while it’s still small enough to move fast. As Communications & Engagement Manager, you’d be joining at a point where your decisions actually stick.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Building and running communications campaigns that connect with target audiences across press, social and internal channels
- Writing and editing press releases, briefing documents and thought leadership content that sound like a person wrote them
- Managing relationships with journalists, media contacts and industry partners across the UK
- Tracking engagement metrics and adjusting activity based on what the data actually shows
- Coordinating internal communications so the whole company hears news at the same time, not in fragments
- Supporting leadership with messaging for launches, funding announcements and other milestone moments

- A few years’ experience in PR, communications or a closely related field
- Sharp writing skills. You should be able to switch tone between a press release and an internal Slack update without thinking twice
- Confidence pitching to media and building relationships that last beyond one story
- Comfort with ambiguity. Startups change direction, and this role needs someone who can adjust without losing momentum
- Basic grasp of analytics tools to measure what’s actually landing
- The ability to work independently while still being a genuine team player in a flat structure
Key perks and benefits:
- £39,500 to £50,000, depending on experience
- Equity in the business, because your work should build something you actually own a piece of
- Hybrid working from Edinburgh, with flexible hours built around output rather than clock-watching
- A genuine learning and development budget you’re encouraged to use
- Remote-friendly culture for the days you’re not in the office
