Senior Sales & Commercial Operations Coordinator
You’re the person everyone relies on to make things happen. Now imagine putting those skills to work in a growing international technology business.
Technify Talent is supporting a rapidly growing UK defence-technology company in the appointment of an experienced Senior Sales & Commercial Operations Coordinator.
The business is at the forefront of counter-drone and advanced airspace protection technology, helping safeguard airports, stadiums and sensitive environments against increasingly sophisticated threats.
Following its acquisition by a major international defence group, it now has the backing, technology and global reach to accelerate its international expansion.
And as the commercial organisation grows, it needs someone exceptional to help keep everything moving.
This is where you come in.
You already know what it takes to support a busy commercial team. You’re organised, resourceful and comfortable juggling multiple priorities. You’re the person who remembers the details, anticipates what needs doing and makes life considerably easier for everyone around you.
But perhaps you’re ready for something more interesting than another conventional sales administration role.
Perhaps you’d like greater exposure to international business, sophisticated technology and senior commercial decision-makers. A role where you’re encouraged to take ownership, contribute ideas and develop your career as the business grows.
This could be exactly that opportunity.
Reporting to the VP of Business Development, you’ll become a central part of a global commercial organisation, supporting senior sales leaders, marketing, bid management and technical colleagues.
You’ll be based in the Reading office, providing an important connection between the commercial team and the wider business.
And you certainly won’t be doing the same thing every day.
One morning you could be coordinating an overseas customer visit or arranging the logistics for a technology demonstration. Later, you might be preparing commercial documentation, supporting an international exhibition, organising meetings across several time zones or ensuring the CRM accurately reflects the latest opportunities.
You’ll need to be comfortable when several people need your help at once, confident enough to establish priorities and proactive enough to spot potential problems before they become urgent.
This is much more than diary management and administration.
It’s about understanding how a commercial organisation operates and helping the people around you perform at their best.
Your remit will include:
- Providing comprehensive operational support to senior sales leaders and commercial teams working across international markets.
- Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of CRM records, customer information, opportunities and sales activity.
- Coordinating commercial proposals, presentations, quotations, customer communications and associated documentation.
- Organising international customer visits, meetings, travel arrangements, exhibitions and industry events.
- Supporting the logistics of equipment demonstrations, shipments and related documentation, working with appropriate technical and compliance specialists.
- Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Bid Management, Engineering and other departments to coordinate activities and maintain momentum.
- Managing competing priorities and ensuring important deadlines, actions and commitments don’t get overlooked.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, communication and operational efficiency as the organisation expands.
Who are we looking for?
You will already have meaningful experience in sales support, commercial operations, sales coordination or a similarly demanding business support position.
Ideally, you’ve worked in a growing business where everyone gets involved, priorities can change quickly and people are expected to use their initiative rather than wait for instructions.
You’ll be confident working with CRM systems, managing commercial information and producing accurate documentation.
You’ll understand the importance of details, but you’ll also appreciate the bigger commercial picture.
And you’ll have a genuine curiosity about technology.
You don’t need to be an engineer. But you should enjoy understanding what your company sells, how its products and services work and why customers need them.
These are sophisticated technical solutions, and the more you understand the business, the more valuable your contribution becomes.
Experience supporting international sales activities, overseas customers, exhibitions or logistics would be particularly attractive.
Your background might be in defence, aerospace, engineering, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing or another technically complex B2B industry.
Defence experience is not essential.
We’re far more interested in your judgement, technical curiosity, attention to detail, commercial awareness and ability to make things happen.
Why make the move?
Because this isn’t simply another administration position in a large organisation where your responsibilities are narrowly defined.
You’ll be joining an ambitious, specialist UK technology company at an important stage of its international growth.
You’ll work alongside experienced commercial and technical professionals, gaining exposure to international markets and technology that addresses real-world security challenges.
You’ll have the opportunity to become a trusted part of the commercial organisation, bringing structure and consistency while helping the business operate more effectively.
And importantly, this is a company that wants to invest in someone with the potential to take on broader responsibilities over time.
There are no promises of automatic promotion, but there is genuine scope to learn, contribute and develop as the organisation expands.
If you’re someone who enjoys being relied upon, takes pride in getting things right and wants your next role to offer more variety, responsibility and opportunity, we’d like to hear from you.
This is an office-based position in Reading, Berkshire, offering a salary of £45,000-£50,000, depending on experience.
