Application Laboratory Chemist

This is a full-time position for a highly motivated individual with a passion for cosmetic formulation development and minimum 2 years of bench experience to join our existing team of chemists. Make-up and sun care formulation experience is a plus. The right candidate will be adaptable, able to work at pace, curious and with a keen eye for detail. The position will provide plenty of opportunity for contact, discussion and co-operation with various stakeholders of the business, both internally and externally.

Minimum required qualifications:

Educated to BSc level in Chemistry, Biology or Physics and/or SCS diploma, proficient in Office programs, minimum 2 years of cosmetic bench experience

Job Description:

• Working on and creating formulations to demonstrate the benefits of using Kobo raw materials, including evaluating stability
• Evaluating new raw materials, preparing reports and presentations for internal/external use
• Enter all formulations, process and stability info into Kobo system
• Prepare formula samples for trade shows and customer events and for use of the sales team
• Participate in customer training workshops and events
• Participate in trade shows (international), customer visits, webinars, social media content and podcasts as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the lab and equipment, calibrating equipment
• Source and order raw materials and packaging, manage inventory
• Finer details of the job will be tailored to the strengths of the successful candidate. Salary will be commensurate with experience and capability. The position is 100% on-site.
