• Speciality – EHCP
• Location -Epsom
• Start date -ASAP
• Contract Length -Ongoing
• Pay Rates -£150 persession
• Hours: 27 hours across the academic year, including direct sessions and indirect work
• We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist to deliver EHCP provision for a primary-aged child with autism and significant speech, language and communication needs.
• This is a small, ongoing package that could fit around an existing caseload.

The role

• Deliver therapy to develop functional communication, receptive and expressive language, joint attention and engagement.
• Support the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), visual supports and a consistent communication approach.
• Provide six 45-minute sessions per term, plus two additional 45-minute sessions in each of the remaining two terms to monitor progress.
• Adapt sessions into shorter periods where needed to support the child’s attention and engagement.
• Set measurable targets each term and develop a written programme for school staff to embed into daily routines.
• Work collaboratively with parents and school staff, modelling strategies and supporting programme delivery.
• Complete planning, clinical notes, liaison and contributions to the annual review within the allocated hours.

Requirements

• 1 year(s) post graduate experience
• Valid Passport/Visa
• Fully compliant and cleared to work
• DBS or Police Check
• HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
• Experience supporting children with autism and complex communication needs.
• Confidence using AAC and supporting communication partners.
• Experience delivering EHCP provision and working collaboratively with education staff and families.
