Company: 15Hatfields
Apply for the Sales Executive (Maternity cover)
Location: London
Job Description:

We are seeking a confident, highly organised and commercially driven Sales Executive to join our team at 15Hatfields on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced events sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building client relationships and knows how to turn enquiries into confirmed business.

The primary focus of this role is reactive sales. We need someone who can confidently manage incoming enquiries, identify opportunities, prepare compelling proposals, conduct successful venue showrounds and convert leads into confirmed bookings.

The successful candidate will be proactive in their approach to managing enquiries, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of the sales process from initial contact through to booking confirmation.

Experience in proactive sales, business development and account management would be advantageous, but the immediate priority is securing an individual with exceptional reactive sales ability who can make an impact from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Reactive Sales & Enquiry Conversion

  • Take ownership of incoming event enquiries across telephone, email, website and other sales channels.
  • Respond to enquiries promptly, professionally and with a strong commercial focus.
  • Qualify leads effectively, understanding client requirements, budgets, expectations and booking potential.
  • Prepare accurate, engaging and commercially competitive proposals and quotations.
  • Conduct confident, engaging venue showrounds that demonstrate the venue’s capabilities and maximise booking opportunities.
  • Follow up on enquiries consistently and strategically to maximise conversion.
  • Negotiate effectively, protecting venue profitability while delivering excellent client experiences.
  • Manage the sales process from initial enquiry through to contract and booking confirmation.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise revenue through additional services, upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the venue’s availability, pricing structures, packages and commercial priorities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong, professional relationships with corporate clients, agencies, event organisers and prospective customers.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the enquiry and booking process.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to progress enquiries and secure business.
  • Develop repeat booking opportunities through excellent relationship management.
  • Represent 15Hatfields with confidence, professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, including enquiries, quotations, follow-up activity and booking information.
  • Effectively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are progressed and no potential business is overlooked.
  • Work towards agreed sales targets, conversion rates and revenue objectives.
  • Monitor outstanding proposals, tentative bookings and lost business to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide clear updates on sales performance, enquiry activity, pipeline value and conversion.
  • Ensure contracts, booking documentation and relevant client information are completed accurately.
  • Work closely with the wider venue team to ensure confirmed bookings are handed over effectively for operational delivery.

Proactive Sales & Business Development

While reactive sales will be the primary responsibility, experience in proactive sales would be beneficial.

Opportunities may include:

  • Identifying new corporate and agency business opportunities.
  • Re-engaging previous clients and dormant accounts.
  • Building relationships with local businesses and event agencies.
  • Supporting targeted sales campaigns and promotional activity.
  • Identifying opportunities to generate repeat and referral business.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, confident, personable and highly motivated to secure business.

You will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and maintaining excellent standards of communication and organisation.

Most importantly, you will understand that successful reactive sales is not simply about responding to enquiries – it is about actively driving those enquiries towards conversion.

  • Previous experience in a sales-focused role, ideally within events, hospitality, venues, hotels or a similar commercial environment.
  • A strong track record of managing incoming enquiries and converting leads into confirmed business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A confident, engaging and professional telephone manner.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Exceptional organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a busy enquiry pipeline and prioritise effectively.
  • Confidence conducting client meetings, presentations and venue showrounds.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office and sales administration tools.
  • A commercially focused mindset with an understanding of sales targets, revenue and conversion.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and contribute positively to a wider team.
  • Previous sales experience within a London events venue.
  • Experience selling corporate events, conferences, meetings, receptions or private events.
  • Proactive sales and business development experience.
  • Existing relationships with corporate event bookers or agencies.
  • Experience with venue booking and event management software.
  • Understanding of venue operations and the wider event delivery process.

What Success Looks Like

We are looking for someone who can quickly become a valuable and effective member of the team.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

  • Fast, professional and commercially effective enquiry responses.
  • Strong enquiry-to-booking conversion rates.
  • Consistent and structured follow-up activity.
  • Effective management of the sales pipeline.
  • Achievement of agreed sales and revenue targets.
  • Excellent client feedback and relationship management.
  • Accurate administration and smooth communication with the operations team.

Why Join 15Hatfields?

This is an opportunity to join a distinctive London events venue and play an important role in driving its commercial performance.

You will work within a collaborative venue team, managing a varied portfolio of event enquiries and helping clients bring their events to life.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring energy, confidence and strong sales discipline to the role, making an immediate contribution during the maternity cover period.

If you are a confident events sales professional who enjoys converting enquiries, building relationships and delivering results, we would love to hear from you.

15Hatfields is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all individuals regardless of age, gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or belief.
