PhD: Light-Driven Pathway Engineering in Purple Bacteria

University of East Anglia in Norwich invites applications for a fully funded NRPDTP PhD studentship starting October 2027. The project will engineer R. palustris pathways to enable light-driven energy and DMSO-like reductions, with in vitro and in vivo characterisation, and Cryo-EM studies of the PioAB complex.

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in February 2027. The studentship covers tuition fees and provides a stipend (£21,805 per year in 2026/27) plus a Research Training Support
