Permanent Position | Company Van & Fuel Card Provided | OOH Call Out Rota
Are you a Gas Safe Registered Engineer looking for a secure, long-term opportunity within the social housing sector? We are seeking an experienced Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer to join a busy repairs and maintenance team delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, and breakdown support across occupied and void social housing properties.
This is a permanent role offering a company van, fuel card, and a structured out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out annual gas safety inspections and landlord gas safety certificates (CP12s)
- Service, maintain, and repair domestic gas boilers and heating systems
- Diagnose and repair boiler and central heating breakdowns
- Fault-find across a variety of domestic gas appliances and heating systems
- Carry out repairs and replacements of heating controls, valves, pumps, radiators, and associated components
- Respond to emergency heating and hot water breakdowns
- Complete gas tightness testing and gas safety checks
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and current legislation
- Provide excellent customer service while working in tenants’ homes
- Accurately complete all certification, job sheets, and compliance documentation
- Participate in the compulsory out-of-hours emergency call-out rota
- Maintain van stock and ensure materials are used efficiently
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies
Requirements
- * Current Gas Safe Registration
- * Proven experience as a Gas Service & Breakdown Engineer
- * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- * Experience working within social housing repairs and maintenance is highly desirable
- * ACS Qualifications including:
- * CCN1
- * CENWAT
- * CKR1
- * HTR1
- * Experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining domestic heating systems
- * Excellent customer service and communication skills
- * Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
- * Must possess own basic trade tools
- * Full clean UK driving licence
- * Clean DBS check
Out of Hours Call-Out
- * Compulsory emergency call-out rota
- * Working pattern: One week on, one week off
- * Responding to emergency heating, hot water, and gas-related issues outside normal working hours
