Digital Transformation Director
Location: Southend, Essex – Hybrid Working (UK-wide travel required)
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for an experienced Digital Transformation Director to join an established organisation undergoing a significant period of business development and transformation. This is a newly created senior leadership position, reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for shaping and delivering the organisation’s digital transformation strategy.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring technology, digital systems and data are used effectively to support these objectives. This is a strategic leadership position rather than a hands-on technical role. We are looking for someone who can understand complex business challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver meaningful change across a large organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the organisation’s digital transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.
- Work closely with the CEO and Executive Team to identify and prioritise digital investment and improvement opportunities.
- Lead major digital transformation and technology-enabled change programmes across multiple business functions.
- Improve operational efficiency through automation, system integration and more effective use of data.
- Ensure digital investment delivers measurable improvements in performance, profitability and service delivery.
- Support the development of new services and operating models through effective digital solutions.
- Reduce duplication across systems and processes, improving consistency and collaboration between departments.
- Establish clear priorities, governance and performance measures for transformation programmes.
- Work with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure successful implementation and adoption of change.
- Support longer-term business growth through scalable and sustainable digital solutions.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for an established senior digital or transformation leader who can demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading large-scale digital transformation or technology-enabled change programmes.
- Previous experience working at Director, Executive or equivalent senior leadership level.
- A proven track record of delivering measurable operational improvements, cost efficiencies or commercial benefits.
- Experience working within complex, multi-site or service-led organisations.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess investment priorities and demonstrate return on investment.
- Experience improving business processes through automation, digital systems and data.
- The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and change management skills.
- Experience working closely with executive teams and influencing strategic business decisions.
- A practical and collaborative approach, with the ability to lead people through significant organisational change.
The Role
