Java Developer

Location: Laindon, Essex – 4 days per week in the office

Salary/Rate: Up to £613 per day inside IR35

Start Date: November 2026

Job Type: Initial 7-month contract (likely to extend for 12 months)

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Designing and building high-scale backend services using Java
• Developing secure and resilient identity and access management solutions
• Working on systems supporting high-volume transactional workloads in a regulated environment
• Applying Test Driven Development (TDD) throughout the software development lifecycle

Required Skills/Experience

• Strong experience in backend software engineering using Java and Spring Boot
• Pair Programming experience
• Strong IAM (Identity Access Management) – preferably OAuth & Azure
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Experience coaching and mentoring junior software engineers
