The OpportunityWe are recruiting for a Sub-Assembly Operative to join a specialist manufacturing business in Wallingford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a practical, hands-on approach to support the assembly, testing and inspection of components in a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-components in line with production schedules, drawings and work instructions.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality and accuracy.
• Use basic hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with testing, inspection and other manufacturing activities as required.
• Keep workstations, tools and equipment clean, tidy and organised.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with the wider production team to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Good general standard of education.
• Practical understanding of hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions is advantageous.
• Good attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Reliable, organised and self-motivated, with a positive can-do attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

What We’re Looking ForSomeone with a strong work ethic, a hands-on approach and a willingness to learn. Previous assembly or manufacturing experience would be beneficial, but a positive attitude and attention to detail are equally important.
