Sourdough Sophia began in a dining room during lockdown, when queues formed down the road for our micro bakery. With a Kickstarter and nearly 600 local backers, we opened our doors in 2020. Today we’re a scaling independent bakery, and our priority is still people. Help us bake better, one buttery layer at a time, leading pastry production with calm precision.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead daily pastry production and coordinate team workflow
• Maintain consistency across viennoiserie and seasonal products
• Train and mentor the team on technique and standards
• Support production planning, ordering and stock control
• Ensure hygiene, allergen and food safety compliance
• Collaborate on menu development and operational improvements
• Step confidently into section leadership during busy periods

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Strong artisan bakery or pastry production background
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a pastry kitchen
• Deep understanding of dough, fermentation and baking
• Calm, organised approach under pressure
• Passionate about quality ingredients and consistent craft
• Clear communicator who builds trust and a positive culture
