Why This Organisation
Our client is a next generation cloud security platform company that uses runtime context to identify and prioritise critical risks across cloud infrastructure. Unlike traditional security tooling, they take a proactive approach – using real time runtime data so engineering teams can focus on what actually matters. Their platform delivers agentless cloud posture discovery, real time threat protection and integrated API security across all major cloud providers.
The engineering team faces complex challenges every day, building innovative and high performance interfaces for a product that genuinely has to perform. The culture is one where product quality and user experience are taken seriously by engineers, not just by product managers – you will be an advocate for the user, not just an executor of designs. The office is at Custom House Square – one of the most impressive working environments in Belfast – and the hybrid model gives you the best of both.
The Role and What It Can Do For Your Career
This is a Frontend Software Engineer position within a dedicated frontend engineering team – pure frontend, no full stack dilution. You will own end to end development of frontend software components from design through development, testing and maintenance. You will contribute to technological and architectural decisions, help define API schemas, conduct code and design reviews and work closely with other teams to integrate across the product.
The career value here is the technical depth and the ownership. You will be working with React, TypeScript and WebGL on interfaces that need to be fast, reliable and visually precise for a product that operates in a complex, high stakes domain. The expectation that frontend engineers advocate for user experience and aesthetic integrity – rather than just implementing what they are handed – means you will grow as an engineer and a product thinker at the same time. That combination is genuinely rare.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end to end development of frontend software components across design, development, testing and maintenance
- Contribute to technological and architectural decisions across the frontend team
- Help define API schemas working closely with backend and product teams
- Interface with other teams to integrate frontend components with other parts of the product
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain quality and engineering standards
- Analyse and improve efficiency, scalability and stability of frontend system components
- Advocate for user experience and the aesthetic integrity of design and architecture
What You Will Need
Essential:
- 3 or more years of experience in frontend engineering using React over TypeScript
- Experience with API design
- Experience with CI and CD practices
- Strong product instinct – you take user experience seriously and advocate for it
- Comfortable contributing to architectural and technological decisions
Nice to Have:
- Experience with WebGL or similar graphics and visualisation technologies
- Background working in security, cloud infrastructure or similarly complex technical domains
Why You Should Apply Now
Pure frontend roles at this technical level – with real architectural ownership, WebGL, a strong product culture and an impressive Belfast city centre office – are not common. This is a scaleup solving genuinely hard problems in cloud security, and the frontend team is at the heart of how customers experience the product.
Salary £50,000 – £60,000. Hybrid working from Custom House Square, Belfast – three days in office, two days remote.
