Accounts Payable Specialist
Castlewellan, Co. Down | £30,000-£35,000 Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with TS Foods to recruit an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team based in Castlewellan. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join an established food manufacturing business, taking responsibility for the day-to-day accounts payable function and ensuring invoices, supplier payments and account reconciliations are managed accurately and efficiently. The Role Reporting to the finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger function. Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Matching invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing supplier payment runs.
- Managing supplier queries and resolving invoice and payment issues.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring invoices are appropriately authorised.
- Supporting month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations where required.
- Working closely with purchasing, goods-in and other internal departments to resolve queries.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and maintain efficient accounts payable procedures.
The Person The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or similar finance role.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when processing financial information.
- Experience reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Competence using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a high-volume transactional finance environment would be advantageous. The Package
