VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with an established organisation based in County Down in their recruitment of an Interim Financial Controller.
This is an initial 3-month assignment, with the potential for extension, and represents an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a key position within the business. From Day 1 you will be given autonomy within the role, and will be responsible for reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and the smooth running of finance operations.
There is possibility for extension of the initial contract timeframe, including the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

About you
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience with significant relevant experience
- Previous experience operating at Financial Controller or senior finance management level
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
- Experience managing month-end processes and overseeing finance operations
- Confident working independently and engaging with senior stakeholders
- Ability to quickly integrate into a business and deliver results
- Immediate availability or a very short notice period is essential
What you’ll do
- Take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring effective financial management and reporting
- Oversee monthly management accounts, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage cash flow, working capital and financial forecasting
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Provide financial insight and commercial support to senior management
- Oversee and support the wider finance team, ensuring key deadlines are achieved
- Identify opportunities to improve existing financial processes and reporting
- Support ad hoc financial projects and business requirements throughout the assignment
