Procurement Manager – Furniture

Our client is a UK e-commerce manufacturer and retailer of furniture, with in-house manufacturing, a growing imported product range and strong investment in digital marketing.

They are now looking for a commercially driven Procurement Manager to source finished furniture products directly from factories worldwide, particularly China, while developing alternative supply chains across Europe and the UK.

Key Responsibilities & Experience

• Proven direct sourcing experience in China, working with factories rather than just agents or distributors.
• Strong background in finished furniture, beds, mattresses, sofas, upholstery or similar bulky consumer products.
• Hands-on experience in supplier selection, factory negotiations, sampling, production management and quality control.
• Strong understanding of freight, customs, duties, Incoterms and landed cost.
• A track record of improving margins, negotiating savings and strengthening supplier relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, owner-led e-commerce and manufacturing business, with international travel as required.
• An established network of factories producing finished furniture, beds, sofas, frames or home furnishings.
• Knowledge of furniture safety standards, compliance and quality assurance.
• Experience with forecasting, inventory management and ERP/MRP systems.
• Experience across both manufacturing and retail/e-commerce.
