Internal Controls & Governance Manager

Overview

In this hands-on role, you will establish and mature Argus’s Group-wide internal controls framework, ensuring robust governance and compliance with COSO. You will partner with process owners to document risks, controls, and evidence, and drive remediation actions across the business. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape the control environment and governance reporting. This position offers autonomy, impact, and a clear path to broader internal audit responsibilities as the control environment matures.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the Group-wide internal controls framework
• Ensure controls over key financial reporting processes
• Document processes, risks and controls with owners, create risk/control matrices and control evidence requirements
• Perform walkthroughs and assess control design and operation
• Develop a proportionate controls testing and monitoring program
• Identify control gaps and drive practical remediation with the business
• Track deficiencies through to completion and align with COSO framework
• Create and maintain a framework for policies, ownership, and reviews

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant or audit professional; ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent; CIA welcome
• Experience at Manager level or readiness for greater ownership
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk and governance
• Experience documenting and testing financial controls
• IT general controls knowledge and ERP experience (NetSuite)
• Familiarity with COSO and SOX-style controls
• Analytical with end-to-end process understanding
• Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to simplify complex processes
• Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and challenging existing practices
