Production Team Leader

Overview

You will lead the production team in Cheltenham, driving daily operations aligned with HSE, quality, cost and delivery objectives. You’ll push continuous improvement through process optimisation, non-conformance handling and involvement in APQP/PPAP and QRQC initiatives. With a background in machining/engineering and ability to read drawings, you ensure assembly and machining outputs meet customer expectations. This role blends hands-on leadership with cross-functional collaboration in a global aerospace leader.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production alignment ensuring efficient, effective team operation
• Develop team capabilities to meet objectives and foster a continuous improvement culture
• Advance production processes to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage non-conformances and support industrialization through APQP & PPAP
• Implement production and assembly process improvements via QRQC deployment
• Conduct risk assessments using Mango and lead employee-driven improvement initiatives
• Read technical drawings and understand assembly, machining, quality, and SAP systems
• Ensure operations satisfy customer expectations

Key requirements

• Reading technical drawings
• Familiarity with assembly, machining, processing, quality, and SAP systems
• Ability to lead, mentor and solve problems within a team (leadership potential)
• Continuous Improvement mindset
• Willingness to work shifts and adapt to business needs
• Practical experience prioritized over formal NVQ/apprenticeship; NVQ/apprenticeship advantageous
• Background in machining/engineering and machine shop operations
