Customer Engineer, Platform, Financial Services Institution, Google Cloud

Overview

In this role you drive technical enablement for Google Cloud across customers by blending sales, development, and solutions architecture. You shape and present cross‑pillar cloud solutions, aiming for technical wins through demos, pilots and workshops. You lead the delivery planning and ensure a smooth handoff to implementation teams, aligning with customer goals. You partner with sales and product teams to stay ahead of industry trends and craft practical, value‑driven outcomes for complex customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the technical account plan and strategy for targeted sales motions
• Demonstrate value of Google Cloud through complex demos, pilots, and workshops
• Architect cross‑pillar cloud solutions and define initial delivery plans
• Lead the technical engagement through the solution phase and drive technical wins
• Facilitate post‑sales transition by supporting pricing and moving delivery plans to implementation
• Monitor progress against the delivery plan and assist cross‑functional teams during ramp, delivery, migration or implementation phases

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
• Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
• Experience engaging with, or presenting to, technical stakeholders or executive leaders
• Experience in programming languages, debugging, systems design, prototyping, demos, or customer workshops
• Experience working directly within or as a technical advisor to financial services or regulated organizations
