Compliance & Governance Manager

Overview

In this site-based role, you own the compliance and governance framework for a specialist engineering environment, focusing on audit readiness, safety and regulatory adherence. You collaborate across Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and Facilities to keep risks controlled and evidenced. You lead internal audits, CAPA/NCR governance, and document/change control to ensure regulatory and safety impacts are assessed before release. You will shape the approach to Type Approval, CoP, and ISO/QMS, driving continuous improvement with autonomy and technical ownership. This is a long-term, stable opportunity to influence compliance at scale while working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own Type Approval & Conformity of Production governance, registers and evidence
• Lead Health & Safety management system activities (risk assessments, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR)
• Manage ISO 9001/QMS and internal audit programme, document control and management reviews
• Run CAPA / NCR governance ensuring actions are owned, closed and verified
• Maintain statutory registers and ensure robust document and change control
• Travel to suppliers, customers, regulators and for external audits
• Be the go-to person for compliance and governance within the site
• Challenge processes to drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Compliance / quality / H&S / regulatory experience in engineering, manufacturing, Automotive or similar
• Type Approval / CoP exposure (VCA or equivalent) desirable
• NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) minimum
