Health & Safety Manager

Overview

As Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will oversee HSE across Southwest projects, ensuring legal compliance and client standards while promoting best practice. You will drive continuous improvement in safety culture and lead high-risk activity planning with the delivery team. You’ll conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and actively engage teams in behavioural safety. This role offers exposure to large-scale schemes and clear progression within a leading contractor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legal standards, client expectations, and company standards
• Support planning and delivery teams for high-risk activities
• Regularly perform safety inspections and audits
• Advise on incidents, accidents, or near misses
• Promote HSE awareness and behavioural improvement across the team

Key requirements

• Experience in a similar role on high-value schemes (10M–100M) is advantageous
• HSE Advisor ready to step up considered
• Knowledge of ISO 45001/ISO 14001/ISO 9001
• Relevant qualifications including NEBOSH & IOSH
