Commercial Gas Engineer

Overview

In this role you will maintain and service HVAC assets on high-profile supermarket contracts, ensuring safe, compliant operation and timely responses to service requests. You will work within the facilities team to deliver reliable gas and HVAC performance, drive proactive maintenance, and support replacements when needed. This position offers a structured schedule, on-call rotation, and a clear path to impact through hands-on problem solving in a safety-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete the planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule with accurate paperwork
• Respond to service calls and alarms from Helpdesk within set timescales and assess required repairs
• Perform maintenance on HVAC assets (gas-fired heating, LPHW, DX coils, heat pumps, air conditioning, boilers, pumps, inverters, DHW boilers, water chillers)
• Identify non-repairable faults and advise Line Manager with replacement recommendations
• Ensure all work complies with Health, Safety & Environmental policies

Key requirements

• Recognised Commercial Gas qualifications (at least 4 of: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CDGA1, CCP1)
• F Gas (2079) qualification
• 17th or 18th Edition (Desirable)
• Unvented Water Heaters – HWSS Hot Water Systems & Safety (G3) – Essential
