Business Development Manager

Overview

In this role you will shape market direction for the Advanced Weapons Delivery Team and drive order intake through IBP targets. You’ll build deep customer relationships to identify opportunities, influence product strategies, and support bids, including acting as Bid Manager when needed. You will collaborate across Defence Solutions Munitions, Group Business Development and international teams, with travel to meet customers. Responsibilities

• Provide market direction to the Advanced Weapons Delivery Team
• Achieve Order Intake targets set in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for the IDT
• Identify future opportunities and contract extensions to meet IBP objectives
• Influence product strategies and development plans to address emerging requirements
• Develop and maintain customer intimacy to maximise business winning opportunities
• Identify opportunities early and support bids; take on Bid Manager role when required
• Coordinate with Defence Solutions Munitions, Group Business Development and BAE Systems Inc
• UK and international travel to engage with customers as needed

Key requirements

• Experience in a customer environment with strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to influence internal stakeholders to support business winning
• Knowledge of Weapons and Munitions capabilities (desirable)
• Willingness to travel UK and worldwide
