Sir Robert McAlpine,through Integrated Health Projects (IHP), our long-standing jointventure with VINCI Building, has been appointed to deliver the newLeighton Hospital in Crewe as part of the Government’s New HospitalProgramme.
This is a majoropportunity to join the team at the early stages of one of the UK’smost significant healthcare programmes. The new hospital willreplace the existing Leighton Hospital and will be delivered usingthe Hospital 2.0 approach, bringing together standardised design,digital innovation, clinical leadership and collaborative deliveryto create a modern healthcare environment for patients, staff andthe wider community.

TheCommercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyorrole
We are seekingexperienced Senior Quantity Surveyor’s to join our team on one ofthe New Hospital Programme projects in Crewe. This is acareer-enhancingopportunity to work on an £800million scheme throughto 2033 with our long-standing joint ventureIHP.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Commercial management across all projectstages, ensuring cost control and valueoptimisation.
- Manage a range of commercial aspectsincluding procurement, tendering, contract administration,variations, and management of subcontract works packages through tofinal account.
- Provide accurate forecasting, reporting,and risk management.
- Be proactive in minimising risk and costwhile maximising value through cost checking and analysis oflabour, plant, and materials.
- Collaborate closely with project teams todeliver on time and within budget.
Yourprofile
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor onlarge-scale, major projects.
- Ideally experience within healthcare onprocure schemes with NEC contract experience.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying,Commercial Management, or a relateddiscipline.
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiationskills.
- Strong communication and stakeholdermanagement abilities.
- be a recognised Senior Quantity Surveyorwith strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit andcash
- have experience managing a range ofcommercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contractadministration, variations and management of subcontract workspackages through to final account.
- be keen to minimise risk, cost and maximisevalue by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant andmaterials.
