Operations Manager
Location: Lisburn hybrid working available, with a minimum of three days per week on siteSalary: £40,000£50,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus quarterly bonuses
GenTech Recruitment is recruiting an Operations Manager for a removals and storage company based in Lisburn.
You will oversee daily operations, manage HGV and van schedules, coordinate deliveries and collections, and organise cross-channel runs. You will also support customers and drivers, manage recruitment and annual leave, and oversee payroll administration.
Experience in transport planning or transport management is essential. Removals and storage experience would be an advantage but is not necessary. A full driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate HGV and van movements, allocating vehicles and drivers efficiently.
- Schedule deliveries and collections, keeping customers informed of arrangements.
- Organise cross-channel runs, including routes, timings and travel arrangements.
- Manage daily operational changes, resolving delays and arranging cover where required.
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve service issues professionally.
- Recruit and onboard drivers.
- Manage driver availability, annual leave and staffing cover.
- Oversee timesheets and payroll administration.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and inspections.
- Ensure operations follow relevant transport regulations and safe working practices.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in transport planning or transport management.
- A full driving licence.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage changing schedules and competing priorities.
- Confident communication and customer service skills.
- Experience coordinating drivers, vehicles and workloads.
- Good administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of transport compliance and drivers hours requirements.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within removals and storage.
- Experience organising cross-channel transport.
- Experience managing recruitment, annual leave and payroll administration.
