Job Description:

Most security architects are handed a brief. In this role, you go and find out what the business actually needs first.

You’ll be the enterprise architect for the security platform portfolio of a FTSE 100 multinational group. That means spending time with divisional leaders to understand how their businesses run, turning that into architecture, and owning the design from proposal through to roadmap. It’s a funded, multi-year transformation, and you’ll report directly to the Deputy Group CISO.

The essentials

  • £95,000 to £105,000 + bonuses
  • Hybrid, London or Peterborough
  • Reports to the Deputy Group CISO, no direct reports

Enterprise Security Architect – What you’ll actually do

  • Work closely with divisional security leads and business stakeholders to understand what each division does and what it needs from Group security.
  • Gather and challenge requirements, then design proactively and bring well-evidenced proposals to leadership.
  • Own the architecture and roadmap across Microsoft Defender, Zscaler, Qualys and more, so the platforms work as one estate rather than a set of point solutions.
  • Set the patterns, reference architectures and standards that engineering and divisional teams build against.
  • Lead technology evaluation and consolidation, and give architectural input into acquisitions and divestments.
  • Partner with the SOC and engineering teams so the architecture improves detection and response

Enterprise Security Architect – What you’ll need:

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, including gathering business requirements and influencing teams you don’t manage, ideally in a federated or multi-business-unit organisation.
  • Hands-on grounding in security platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Zscaler or Qualys.
  • Working knowledge of SABSA, TOGAF or NIST CSF, plus zero trust principles.
  • 8+ years in Cyber Security.
  • CISSP, CISM, SABSA or an advanced vendor certification.

Nice to have

  • Background in FMCG, retail, food or manufacturing
  • OT/ICS security (IEC 62443)
  • Security input into M&A and integration
  • TOGAF or SABSA certification

If you’re a solutions architect who prefers working to a set design, this probably isn’t the one. If you meet most but not all of the essentials, we’d still like to hear from you.

What’s in it for you

Real ownership of how a FTSE 100 group’s security platforms fit together, with investment behind the programme, a direct line to senior security leadership, bonuses and hybrid working.
