Store Assistant – Durham
The Role
This role is an exciting opportunity that will strengthen the retail department’s capacity to purse and capitalise on new commercial opportunities, driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships.
As a sales assistant, you’ll work as part of a friendly team in a fast-moving Co-op store. We’ll look to you to provide our customers with great service whilst performing a wide range of tasks around the store.
We will require you to be punctual, flexible, and willing to work variable shift patterns, including bank holidays, evenings and weekends.
We’re looking for people who have:
- A genuine passion for helping people and delivering great customer service.
- The ability to work flexibly across a number of shifts and as part of a team.
- An interest in retail and working in a busy store environment.
As part of this application process, you will need to complete two online assessments which will take around 20 minutes to complete.
There are 5 different contracts available for this role, they are detailed below:
- 1 x 28 hours per week / 52 weeks
- 1 x 16 hours per week / 52 weeks
- 2 x 20 hours per week / 32 weeks (term time only)
- 1 x 16 hours per week / 32 weeks (term time only)

The location for this role is Teaching and Learning Centre that is based on Lower Mountjoy campus.
