Project Manager

Overview

As Project Manager for TechFwd, you will coordinate and deliver across multiple workstreams within Softcat’s internal technology transformation. You’ll partner with the Programme Manager and workstream leads to align progress, risks, and milestones, ensuring a joined-up delivery view. The role requires adapting across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methods while upholding governance and reporting standards. You’ll influence decision-making and keep stakeholders informed, contributing to a strategic technology roadmap. Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an integrated delivery view across TechFwd workstreams
• Coordinate milestones and delivery commitments across workstreams
• Track progress and dependencies; intervene where needed
• Maintain RAID, dependency, decision, and action logs
• Consolidate status updates for Programme Manager and governance forums
• Support governance, reporting, and artefact maintenance
• Facilitate cross-workstream planning and stakeholder communications
• Apply Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches and promote continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Proven experience managing IT or business-change projects across multiple workstreams
• Strong planning and organisational skills with an integrated delivery view
• Strong risk, issue, dependency, action and decision management
• Experience identifying and managing cross-workstream dependencies
• Strong governance and reporting capability to simplify complex information
• Excellent stakeholder management and facilitation skills
• Ability to work across business and technical teams; comfortable with ambiguity and changing requirements
• Experience across Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments
• Structured, outcome-focused approach with strong judgement and attention to detail
• PRINCE2 Foundation, APM or equivalent project management qualification
