Your next employer operates within the global transport and logistics sector, delivering air and sea freight services to customers. Based in Belfast, the organisation is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the local Air & Sea Freight operations team, working closely with customers and senior stakeholders to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
About you
- Recent freight forwarding experience gained within the last 12 months
- Experience in air and/or sea freight forwarding operations
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong commercial awareness and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience managing operational KPIs, SOPs and SLAs would be beneficial
- CargoWise One experience would be advantageous
- Experienced Freight Forwarding Team Leaders and Supervisors seeking progression are encouraged to apply
Preferred education and experience: Relevant educational qualifications are not specified for this position. Recent operational experience within freight forwarding, together with previous team leadership or supervisory experience, is essential.
What you’ll do
- Lead, develop and motivate the Belfast Air & Sea Freight operations team
- Manage customer relationships and ensure a consistently high standard of service delivery
- Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with customer SOPs, SLAs and company procedures
- Coach, train and manage staff performance
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial and operational objectives
