Head of Service- Gynaecology Consultant

Overview

As Gynaecology Consultant – Head of Service, you will provide clinical leadership and shape the development of CHEC’s community gynaecology services. You will work hybridly across regional sites to improve access, reduce waiting times, and maintain high-quality care. You’ll mentor GPwERs, contribute to governance and research, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to drive service improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the gynaecology service
• Drive development and continuous improvement of clinical care pathways
• Mentor and support GPwERs in gynaecology, including teaching and annual appraisal involvement
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and research relevant to gynaecology
• Support service development and uphold high standards of clinical quality and patient care
• Collaborate with operational and clinical teams across the organisation

Key requirements

• Current GMC registration and licence to practise
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Evidence of current or recent consultant-level gynaecology practice
• Evidence of competence relevant to the CHEC Community Gynaecology scope of practice
• Demonstrable experience working within acute and community gynaecology services
