About the Opportunity
Are you currently studying Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline?
Willowbrook Foods is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated undergraduate or postgraduate student to gain valuable hands-on experience within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
This placement is ideal for a student undertaking a degree or Master’s programme and may offer valuable real-world insight and support for research projects, dissertations, or academic studies focusing on operational excellence, process improvement, productivity, or lean manufacturing.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working closely with our production and management teams, you will gain exposure to:
- Production planning and operational processes
- Continuous improvement projects
- Process mapping and workflow analysis
- Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Data collection and performance reporting
- Identifying efficiency and productivity improvements
- Manufacturing equipment and production systems
- Supporting business improvement projects across the operation
What We’re Looking For
- Currently studying towards a Degree or Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Interest in manufacturing, operations, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full driving licence and access to a car, as our Killinchy location is not serviced by public transport
