Financial Crime Agile Testing Programme Lead

Overview

In this role you lead the Agile Testing function within Barclays’ Financial Crime and Compliance risk domains, delivering proactive, risk-based testing and independent challenge. You establish and evolve the testing methodology, governance, and delivery capability to identify emerging risks and drive remediation. You work with senior management and cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and regulatory outcomes, supporting a strong control environment across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and challenge on compliance risks through reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems
• Investigate potential market abuse, including insider dealing, unlawful disclosure, market manipulation, or anti-competitive conduct
• Lead investigations of compliance risk events or breaches and oversee corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Implement and align compliance policies with regulatory requirements and international standards
• Collaborate with 1LOD, other Compliance teams, legal and risk management functions to enable comprehensive risk management
• Identify, investigate, and oversee potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime
• Establish and enhance Agile Testing methodology, operating model, governance, reporting and delivery capacity
• Communicate risk matters to senior executives and governance forums and influence strategic decisions
• Resource, budget, and policy management for the testing sub-function
• Promote a culture of compliance and ethical practice across the function

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, Assurance, Audit, or Testing functions
• Proven leadership experience managing senior specialist teams
• Strong understanding of AML, Sanctions, ABC, Fraud, and broader Compliance risk frameworks
• Experience designing and implementing testing, assurance, or oversight frameworks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Experience presenting risk matters to senior executives and governance forums
