Junior Technical Project Manager – Engine by Starling

Overview

As a Technical Programme Manager at Engine by Starling, you will lead strategic, end-to-end programmes within a fast-paced fintech environment. You’ll bridge Engineering, Product, and Delivery partners to deliver complex SaaS initiatives for multiple clients, coordinating across external schemes and technology providers. You’ll shape plans, manage risks, and drive on-time delivery while supporting international growth. This role offers ownership, cross-functional impact, and a chance to help reshape banking solutions at scale.

Responsibilities

• Overall management and coordination of a technical programme across multiple inter-dependent projects
• Serve as the primary bridge between Engineering, Clients, and Delivery partners
• Support Software Development Lifecycle planning with Engineering Leads
• Coordinate work across multiple teams to align with product and capacity
• Maintain real-time view of client needs versus internal capacity with Product Leads
• Identify and mitigate risks of over-commitment and ensure realistic timelines
• Manage relationships with vendors and payment schemes and hold them accountable
• Provide reporting and metrics on delivery progress and plans
• Continuously monitor processes and implement improvements

Key requirements

• End-to-end Project or Programme Management experience in technology or financial services
• Experience delivering complex technical solutions in a SaaS context with Engineering and Product teams
• Hands-on and adaptable approach in a fast-paced, shifting priority environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for complex topics
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities to navigate ambiguity
• Ability to talk technically with Product and Engineering teams
• Experience on cards projects is highly desirable
