Defence Project Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead UK Defence/MOD project delivery from Bristol, owning work packages with clear accountability. You will collaborate with engineering, commercial, finance and suppliers to keep delivery on track and support governance and assurance. You’ll work on high-stakes scope, schedule and cost management, resolving delivery problems and providing performance updates. This permanent role offers a structured, security-cleared environment with a strong focus on tangible outcomes and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a project, control account or work package with defined objectives and milestones
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, dependencies and controlled changes
• Collaborate with engineering, commercial, finance, suppliers and Project Controls to maintain delivery
• Provide performance updates and resolve delivery problems
• Support governance, approvals and assurance processes
• Ensure compliance with MOD/security requirements during delivery

Key requirements

• Practical PM delivery experience within UK defence with personal accountability for outcomes
• Sole British citizenship (no dual citizenship)
• Current or previously held UK Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
• Recognised project management qualification; APM PMQ desirable
• Ability to work onsite in Bristol 3 days per week on an ongoing basis
