VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with an established and successful organisation based in Craigavon in their recruitment of an Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional or Part-Qualified Accountant to join a busy finance team on a 12-18 month contract.
Working closely with the wider finance team, the Assistant Accountant will play an important role in supporting month-end reporting, maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.

About you
- Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), AAT qualified or qualified by experience
- Previous experience within an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of month-end processes and financial reconciliations
- Confident working with Excel and accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work
What you’ll do
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Support month-end close processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Support the preparation of financial reports for senior management
- Assist with VAT returns and other financial compliance requirements
- Support year-end processes and liaise with auditors as required
- Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Assist with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements
