About the Role
Our client, a leading real estate investment firm, is seeking a highly analytical and motivated Real Estate Investment Analyst to join their expanding team in Randburg, Gauteng. This role is pivotal in supporting the acquisition and management of investment properties. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, financial modeling, due diligence, and presenting investment recommendations to senior management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, a deep understanding of real estate markets, and the ability to identify lucrative investment opportunities within Randburg and beyond. This position offers significant exposure to high-level investment decisions and the potential for rapid career progression in the real estate investment sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential investment opportunities in various real estate sectors.
- Perform detailed financial modeling, including DCF analysis, cash flow projections, and pro forma statements for potential acquisitions.
- Assist in the due diligence process for property acquisitions, including reviewing legal documents, title reports, and environmental assessments.
- Prepare detailed investment memorandums and presentations for the investment committee.
- Monitor the performance of existing investment properties and provide regular reports.
- Analyze economic, demographic, and market trends impacting real estate investments in Gauteng.
- Work closely with external partners, including brokers, lawyers, and property managers.
- Maintain and update the firm’s database of market information and investment comparables.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate investment analysis, financial analysis, or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and presentation software.
- Solid understanding of real estate valuation methodologies and investment principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough due diligence and synthesize complex information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
- Knowledge of the Randburg and Gauteng real estate markets is highly preferred.
- Experience with real estate databases such as CoStar or similar is a plus.
