Multi-site responsibility | Occasional UK travel

Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys being hands‑on, supporting managers and making a real difference to how organisations operate?

We’re working with an established care and education provider seeking a confident, approachable HR Manager to support its specialist college services.

This is a varied operational role, ideal for someone who enjoys employee relations, coaching managers, solving problems and getting involved in wider HR projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing practical HR advice across disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and absence matters.
• Managing complex employee relations cases and supporting investigations.
• Coaching managers to handle people matters confidently and consistently.
• Supporting recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
• Contributing to organisational change, TUPE, restructuring and HR improvement projects.
• Monitoring HR trends, compliance and management information.
• Working closely with senior leaders and contributing to college leadership meetings.
• Supporting HR activity across college locations, with some UK travel.

What we’re looking for

• Strong generalist HR experience, ideally at HR Manager or Senior HR Adviser level.
• Confident, practical employee relations knowledge.
• Experience advising and influencing operational managers.
• Sound understanding of UK employment legislation and HR processes.
• Excellent communication, judgement and organisational skills.
• A proactive, approachable style and the confidence to challenge constructively.
• Previous experience in education, SEND, social care, healthcare or multi-site services would be particularly welcome.
