Project Controller (Planning)

Overview

In this role you will lead the creation and ongoing maintenance of complex project schedules for defence engineering programmes. You will collaborate with engineering, delivery and commercial teams to enable informed delivery decisions. You will assess progress, variances, critical paths and potential delays, while supporting schedule risk analysis and forecasting. This is a hands-on planning position with exposure to key controls and change management, in a hybrid Bristol-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain and validate project schedules, milestones, dependencies and baselines
• Assess progress, variance, critical paths and potential delays
• Support schedule risk analysis, performance reporting and forecasting across time, cost and resources
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Controls to identify issues and drive corrective actions

Key requirements

• Experience building or maintaining project schedules using P6, MS Project or similar tools
• Experience with baselines, progress updates, schedule logic, performance data and change control
• Background in defence, aerospace, engineering, manufacturing or similar complex technical environment
• Primavera P6 highly desirable; strong MS Project or equivalent considered
• Exposure to Earned Value Management, Schedule Risk Analysis, resource planning or NEC contracts helpful rather than mandatory
