Global Equity Research Analyst – TMT Sector

An established global investment platform is seeking an accomplished Global Equity Research Analyst to lead research across the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) sector.

Operating within a large, global equity investment platform, the successful candidate will have significant autonomy and ownership of their coverage universe. The role extends well beyond traditional company research: the analyst will be expected to develop an independent perspective on the sector, identify compelling investment opportunities and play a meaningful role in influencing portfolio positioning and capital allocation decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive, differentiated understanding of the global TMT landscape, spanning relevant industries, business models and companies across developed markets
• Proactively identify and research investment opportunities, developing differentiated long investment theses grounded in fundamental analysis and independent judgement
• Translate sector insights and company-level research into actionable investment recommendations, directly contributing to portfolio construction, position sizing and capital deployment decisions
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks and investment cases, assessing business quality, competitive positioning, earnings power, cash generation and long-term value creation
• Monitor industry developments and trends to understand their implications for company fundamentals and investment returns
• Present and defend investment views with Portfolio Managers and fellow investment professionals, constructively challenging consensus thinking
• Maintain close oversight of relevant holdings and investment theses, identifying emerging risks, catalysts and changes in fundamental outlook that may warrant adjustments to portfolio positioning

Essential experience and attributes

• Significant experience in equity research at a leading buy-side investment organisation
• Extensive experience analysing stocks in the global TMT sector
• A proven ability to exercise independent investment judgement, develop conviction and take ownership of research priorities and investment views
• Intellectual flexibility and the confidence to challenge consensus expectations
• A collaborative approach, with the confidence and credibility to influence investment discussions and work effectively with colleagues
• Strong work ethic, personal integrity and a high degree of initiative, accountability and attention to detail
• Strong academic credentials; a degree in finance, economics, business, engineering or a relevant technical discipline is desirable
