Senior Operations & Governance Manager

We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and solutions-focused Senior Operations & Governance Manager to transform and strengthen HNG’s systems and operational foundations to ensure the organisation runs more smoothly, efficiently and compliantly, and is future proofed as technology evolves.

Duties

• The successful candidate will take ownership of improving how HNG operates day to day.
• You will bring structure, clarity and consistency to our administrative processes, information management, IT systems and organisational governance.
• You will transform the way we work to ensure that staff have the systems, information and support they need to do their jobs effectively, while strengthening data protection and organisational accountability.
• At the end of the contract this work will be embedded into the ‘business as usual’ approach.
• This is a hands-on management role requiring someone who can assess what is working, identify practical and technological improvements and implement sustainable solutions.
• You will work closely with the CEO, Administrator, Finance Director, Treasurer, trustees and external IT provider, as well as colleagues across HNG’s services and community spaces.
• Operations and administration: Significant experience in an operations, business management, administration or governance role, with a track record of improving organisational efficiency.
• Demonstrable experience of reviewing, designing and implementing clear, consistent processes and systems that improve productivity and reduce unnecessary work.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly OneDrive and SharePoint, including document architecture, file-sharing arrangements, access permissions and user guidance.
• Good understanding of data protection, information security, document retention and the practical requirements of GDPR compliance.
• Experience of managing or improving digital tools including CMS, SMMS and CRM systems and other digital tools, with the ability to assess functionality and identify opportunities for better use.
• Experience of working with external IT providers or technology suppliers, translating organisational needs into clear requirements and monitoring service delivery.
