Our client is one of the longest-established macro firms in the world – over 45 years of evidence-based macro, asset allocation and market research that institutional investors in the US treat as a daily read. The UK is the growth territory. They are hiring a new-business salesperson in London to open it up.
This is a hunting seat. You will prospect, pitch and close new institutional accounts across the UK – wealth managers, family offices, insurance investment teams, pension funds, endowments and foundations – with some additional prospecting into Asia Pacific. You sell a subscription research platform that is easy to demonstrate and hard to replicate: proprietary indicators, charting, model portfolios and strategist access, backed by a research team with a long track record of calling turns in markets.
You will sit with a small international sales and product specialist team in London, with the firm’s strategists and marketing behind you.
What you’ll do:
- Win new institutional subscribers across the UK, from first outreach to signed contract
- Build and run your own pipeline through direct prospecting, campaigns and events
- Get the right stakeholders into every opportunity and move it to a close
- Help prospects configure the platform to how they invest
- Become a credible voice on macro and markets with CIOs, PMs and heads of research
- Support the London team on content and sales systems between deals
What we’re looking for:
- At least two years selling research, data or analytics subscriptions to investors, with new-logo wins you can point to
- A consultative sales process and comfort negotiating with senior investment professionals
- A working understanding of institutional investor types and what research they buy
- Genuine interest in global macro, strategy and investing
- Ideally, existing relationships in UK wealth management, family offices, insurers or pension funds
- London-based
This will suit someone who has opened new accounts selling research or financial data to investors and wants a territory of their own. It is less likely to suit candidates from corporate or enterprise software sales, or whose experience is managing existing accounts.
